I've recently seen several different options on graded silver. The Moy signature silver eagles have really caught my eye but have a crazy high price on the PCGS price guide. Now I've gotten some really good deals on the coins but never pay close to price guide value. What are your thoughts/opinions?

I, personally, wouldn't pay any more for a coin because of a made up designation.

It's more than just a designation. It's his actual signature. So, you'd be paying for a coin and a signature. Not worth an upcharge in my opinion. Now get one of those dead presidents to sign the holder for their small dollar and I'd get excited.

I actually do have a slabbed coin that I willfully paid extra for because of the signatures on the slab. It's a Goodacre Presentation Sacagawea dollar in the original ICG holder.

Mine is signed by the designer Glenna Goodacre and the model Randy'L He-Dow Teton. Somewhere along the line someone paid extra above the initial $200 cost to get the signatures. Unlike Moy, they are directly tied to the coin, so it's kind of interesting to me. The mintage of this coin is only 5,000, yet they sell in the $500 range. Compare that to the recently released presidential reverse proofs with 17,000 mintages.

The coin designer? Sure I'd pay a little more for that. The mint director? Not a chance. Maybe one with Rittenhouse's original signature.
