What in it says that it is fake? Sorry, I have issues being able to tell that kind of stuff. I'm not arguing what-so-ever about the authenticity, or lack of at that. I'm just trying to understand the tips and tricks.

It looks fine to me. The photos are very bright and the coin is in an Air-Tite making it appear a but unusual.

Actually on second observation, it may be real. The capsule makes the details look washed out.

The "Waffle" effect on the Obv. flag field looks to....well, how can I say it? Waffley.
The Obv. Sun rays look skinny to me, could be the photo.

Just my 2 cents.

Looks ok to me. Either way for a bullion coin it's too expensive at $28.

Looks ok but the price is a little bit high.

Doesn't really scream fake to me. The reverse is a bit too proof like for a 1996 bullion coin but probably ok

I really hate how people just scream "fake" or point out random apparent inconsistencies in a thread like this because the OP suggests that the coin MIGHT be fake. Obviously, very little comparison or giving the coin the benefit of the doubt went on here.

This coin is obviously very genuine, and is actually a good price for a 1996. 1996 eagle tend to sell for about $40-50 in this grade. Don't forget that they are a scarcer and more popular issue than most of the Silver Eagle bullion coins.

Look at the shipping cost converted to US dollars. At $6.66 I'd say that's a definite sign to stay away!

Last two 1996's sold for $42 and $46

So $28 with $7 shipping is not too shabby

Phew. I am glad that this has been corrected. When I first saw this, and saw 'obvious fake' and took a look at the coin, I was scratching my head and wondering if I didnt know quite as much as I thought I did about ASE's.

I chose to just stay silent, as I am no 'expert' but I was worried.
