Sad thing RCM collectors are so use to high mintages that these will likely sell out "and" do ok on the secondary market just because its only 4000 mintage and under $200. They could have put anything on it and it would still do ok .

Partially disagree with this. yes, I think 4000 should exceed the demand - not really attractive coin, but piece of coin-like jewelry. but the issue isn't only the mintage - this is the mintage and amount of other items. Where other mints "beat" RCM? They mint really unrelated to the coin stuff, and use the tiny mintages of 2000 and under (otherwise it just wouldn't sell). Will help to RCM to go back to small amount of the coins, or significantly cut the mintage.....might be that way some stone glued to the silver round will "do well". Added: Not the best example, but interesting: check the other forum for the "Back in Future" coins. The "Transporter #2" : **The DeLorian turned to the ugly plasic car, with the coin under the hood. OMG - it illuminates - small kids and re-sellers will be happy. **The 2oz silver bar aka "Hoverboard" - well, just 2 oz painted bar, supported by clear plastic stand. couple of minutes of LOL, but there is a market for these too, so better to load up this stuff for hot resell - no numismatics here.

I over reacted.Just see here exact continue of "Start Trek", where instead of minting good coins, they invest in packaging The "DeLorian" coin IMO would be better placed in the wooden box a-la "Steamboat Willie" and coloured cardboard box.

Just follow the link I provided on the "other" forum and read the description. On a side note. I don't think they have invested much into the packaging. Even on the picture it looks cheap. But people will buy it...

As gimmicky as the back to the future coins may be, I actually like them.

The Edmund coin...is this depiction of the ship getting smashed by waves far too dark in colour?

I've been away since April, have any releases retained issue price? How are the singing moon mask set doing? I've gotten extremely tired of buying at issue, only to find, months later I can get the coin for 25% less. Yet still the mint hasn't learned and reduced mintages across the board, or scaled back offerings! I choose to buy RCM coins, since I'm a Canuck. I do want to get an Edmund ship coin as I've 2 of the Empress and I do enjoy the ship coins. However I will wait until I can get it under issue. This is my new strategy.

Aside for the Moonlight Fireflies and the Maple Leaf shaped coin, not many RCM coins that have retained issue price. Maybe the 50 cents big coin. The Singing Moon Mask set has been dead as a doornail since it has been issued. Despite the ravngs of a few fans of the set, it has never take off. It finally sold out after four months when the Mint offered it as a subscription. One sold for $300 on ebay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2015-25-Cana...em3f545b2f90Another for $325: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/2015-Canada-...em3f54ad9e83The TCNC auction sold one for $288 (including buyers fee) last week.

I do believe that first two will drop with the time. And as per Big 50 cents coin - smart people here advised to set the priorities, so I sold 10 older 1oz RCM coins and bought 5oz Big 50 cents coin...so you can imagine, how the "coins are doing"

APMEX started to flood the market with commissioned coins. Already 3-rd commisioned series. Main catch - mintage of 500 coins, but again - too many series, and the same patterns. And this one looks lame with "tooth implant": Cook Islands GRAY WOLF CANIS LUPUS series NORTH AMERICAN PREDATORS Silver coin 2015 Antique finish High relief 2 ozFCC priced it at $199, but surely APMEX sells cheaper. Anyway, just example of endless stuff....who need this https://firstcoincompany.com/S/cook...-relief-2-ozADDED: Get it at The Coin Shoppe.I still think that it 'just another coin", but some may like....good for resale. http://www.thecoinshoppe.ca/2015-2-...tooth-inlay/
