I totally agree the tooth implant does look gimmicky! It's too bad mints are trying to appeal to everyone, without giving thought to quality of product. The 75th anniversary of superman was cool, a real Canadian connection. I even enjoyed and bought last yrs silver superman coins, they were good. This yr it's like what's the point already!! I didn't find this years images appealing. Then those half Oz ones are hideous. Now don't get me started on Looney Toones, this is more the area of the New Zealand mint!

I even find it interesting to see RCM offering products from other mints. Is there an exchange program, where mints are selling each others products? The only thing is, the other mints offering are rather dated. It would be nice if there were more current offerings. Then there would be opportunity for people not wanting the import hassle.

I was looking at sold ebay auctions for Nclt coins and was appalled at how much prices had fallen. Had I held my money and bought through auction my collection would be double!! What does this say about new release and their future!! I've even noticed many members that I enjoyed reading their responses are no longer writing or visiting the forum. Two that come to mind are numoosematist and Arianzno, sorry about spelling, my memory for spelling is failing. I do miss reading what these members had to say and the photos they posted!!

@pocket change 50 I also noticed that NuMoosematist and Arianzo are missing and no longer visiting the forum. Miss reading their posts as well.

NuMoose is missing for a long time.
Arianzo apears here and there sometimes.
For sure both of them much more selective with the purchases than previously....as all we are.

You almost didn't miss a thing, Pocket_Change.
The really interesting were some "Canada Flag"coins, enameled Silver Dollar, and if you fan of some sirculation coin - some of the Big Coins could be great choice.

A lot of varieties came from other mints...some appeal, and some not. Majority have no numis value, since "coins about nothing".
Ultra High Relief gimmicky changed by Max High Relief, but still can't get off "Gods" theme...

The single thing, that cane from RCM, when you were missing - this is transition of the Masters Club. But it has an impact on the people who buy a lot from RCM. "Silver" spenders (1K per year) and below (non MC) will not feel difference.

The only thing I use MC for is free shipping, as shipping does add up. I don't know how Canadian companies are able to offer free shipping. Probably by higher prices across the board.

I do have a rep for the past yr, since I'm now the silver version, I don't know how long I will have a rep? I was looking at Solds on ebay last night. Some coins I bought last year have dropped $30-$50 dollars. I feel the money could have been better spent given to charity. Either way I would be left with the same spending amount and helped someone in need!!

Those entering the hobby, have many bargains too choose from getting more bang for the buck in Nclt coins. The ones I bought on the secondary market have only dropped slightly.

The other change I've noticed is the prices of graded coins and now the Ventian glass coins are being graded. I found it to be a real surprise.

The change from 2013 - since RCM started to issue way more coins, the staring collectors do not need this discounted bargain stuff. People jump on current items....or feel that they "must have something rare like lets say Glass Lady Bug"

Problem is nothing is hot, yet the RCM seems to sellout 2/3 of their offerings, although most of it I presume is in dealers stock and then the discounting begins.

I am sure the RCM consider coins sold out as long as they are gone from inventory. So it does not matter if it goes to dealers or to the collector.

AgAuNews published the Krause nominations for the 2016 Coin of the Year

Looking at the list, I think, with the properly choose coins, Canada could win in each category (year of 2014), except the "Best Circulation Coin". But unfortunatelly, the coins haven't been chosen wisely (Best Silver Coin = $20 BobCat?) ....money and politics for sure.

From other side - nice to see, that all "rimless 2oz medals", "pseudo- architectural coins with stones" and other "tourists souvenir" stuff even do not appear in the lists.

Hope for Canada and RCM, we will grab some prizes there.

The only interesting coin from next months RCM releases is the teaser from the Home Shopping guy, we were guessing on what that is? Everything else is just another overpriced bullion coin

Not sure, he mentions last weeks show that it's a theme of the big coin series and of course will sell out in one minute, the only thing I guess is a weird oz. silver version or a gold version of this set. If I can get to Canadian Coin this week I will try to find out for sure.

I not sure, they will re-strike the same, just with different metal content.
Some do not like the re-strikes, and this will additional replica of the same.

I lean toward replica of other circulations sets, just bigger in dimensions. From one side, this is the "milking" of the theme (like was said on RFD), but not many will resist to the big versions of the 1967 set for example.....

So..thanks to the poster from other forum, looks like the CC&C mysterious item will be again "Big coin set" but colorized.
Not sure, that this will attract the collectors.
Probably Loony and 50 cents, but all the set...

If that's all the huff and puff is about, what a waste of time, looks like a lame version of the German private mints colouring the bullion maple leafs.
