Ever buy a coin on impulse with out any price guides to check.
Happened to me today, was out at lunch, taking my new puppy
around (to socialize) and was offered this half dollar.

I was thinking I needed it for a upgrade for my 7070, when
I got home the 1866 - 1892 was the slot I really needed the
most to upgrade.

Hoping for some opinions.

Zoey and Felix thought it was a good buy ...
But to be honest they are not coin experts.

They may not be experts, but this time they're right.

The new coin is not only a major upgrade, but to me a major looker to boot.

The 1860-O is a beauty! I would upgrade that in the type set for sure.

Nice original fields on the new pickup. A HUGE jump in eye appeal as well. Maybe 15 points higher in grade? Looks like a jump from lower XF-details to high AU. If not for the nicks on the reverse it would easily merit MS status.
Stunner.

can't improve on what's already been said! I say leave the price guides at home and go with your instincts!

Swap it for sure! I'd say 58, with a bit of rub on head, bust and eagle's legs. Beautiful coin and congrats.

Thanks All.

This coin is much better looking in hand than my pictures show.

I have shown it to two other collectors so far ... But said
WOW ...

I guess I will keep it then ..... Into to the 7070

A very nice coin that also appears to be original and uncleaned. I like the toning.

Congratulations!

I forgot to mention, this is one of those coins
that sat in a Bank box for decades.

The lady also had a 1909 S Indian Head cent.
She wanted to keep that one.

Loving the new coin! Great eye appeal.

Did you get a chance to look at the 1909-s?
