Hello Folks, I am trying to get an idea of how hard it is to find the 1891 large cent SDSL with long serif T. I am trying to collect all varieties from the 2011 Charlton and this one is proving tough to find. I am looking in VF range, what should I ballpark as a budget.

It's fairly scarce, but not overly so. It was used on a little more than 20% of the SD/SL Ob3's. I have 3, a VF-20, F-15 & F-12. I personally don't like the Obv 3 portraits, so I stopped picking them up. I've sold a few to friends. I'd say that you should be able to put them at about what Trends has for a normal OB3 SD/SL, with one of the normal T in Gratia ones being about 70% of what Trends shows, so a 30% premium for what you are looking for.

JeyRey2000 it's not a scarce coin to find, more like it's hard to find and will make for a great hunt.

So I found one at 135 usd, about VF condition. I am thinking of making an offer. WHat would be a fair offer?

The $135 is what Trends has it for in VF-20. Since Trends is in Canadian dollars, and the loonie is about $0.75, I'd offer $100 .. you can find some if you lok hard enough. Don't pick up the first one that you find, especially if the vendor is selling it as a R/E T.

I have 1 of these in F15 condition. Bought it as a obv 3 SDSL ICCS certified. It did not have the variety listed on it.
