I know absolutely nothing about ancient coins. Could someone help with identification of this? I scanned it quickly, so if you need better (or more) pics, please let me know.
My gut instinct when I first saw it was "reproduction", as well.
The obverse looks much more wrong than the reverse. Two things wrong with it: the hair (looks "tooled"), and the beaded border around the outside - it's supposed to go all the way around. I suspect the master coin this was copied off was either poorly struck or off-centre (many coins of this period were) and that part of the design was missing from the master.
On the reverse, there's a small rectangular blob in between the last "A" and Italia's feet. It's not there on the Wildwinds examples; I'm guessing that might be the mark of the manufacturer of these reproductions.
Here on Wildwinds are three examples of genuine coins of this type, for comparison.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
