I think this might be either a 1938-D or a 1958-D, either way this is PMD, worth only face.

Relief is wrong so it's a pre-1964. Noticing the D, and the style of third digit, it's definitely a 1958-D

What is a drier coin? Is that what it is called or did it actually go through the drier? Haven't heard it called that before.

The coin was in some kind of rotating thing and the constant hitting against the rim caused it to fold over like this, or get squashed. Most commonly from industrial driers.

The uniformity of the damage makes this a very cool piece, IMO. No way I would pay more than face for it, though.
