Hi every one paying attention---- I need an opinion on this coin. Agreed for $2250. Look at this coin and tell me if its worth the money. Coin pictured is lighter than coin in hand I think. 261661238853

Coin previously sold at Heritage for $2300. http://coins.ha.com/itm/large-cents...bnail-071515 Anytime you can pick-up a coin at or below it's previous sale price is usually a good deal. Coin has decent eye-appeal. I would say it was a good pick-up at that price. JMO

Yeah, I think you did alright. It's probably Condition Census (CC#) 2 or 3 for the variety (S-170).

I like the coin. I don't like the fact that it's been cracked out.

Beautiful coin and a great deal Quote: I like the coin. I don't like the fact that it's been cracked out. There are many of us copper lovers who would disagree with you. Just my humble opinion of course...

Cracked out as I thought----also but I got very good coins from this seller only thing is communication wise--a total fail. Seller did not respond to my questions at all-- I'm a bit annoyed. And some of his stuff I feel is WAY over priced so I'm being cautious. Thank u all for the positive Reports-- Ill make the buy ! yey

I follow you but this was likely cracked out in an upgrade/crossover attempt and not for a collector to enjoy. You hope it wasn't played with in the re-submission process; I imagine someone was looking for either a PCGS slab, an upgrade to 58, or both. That was what I was getting at.

I just wondered if the coin has a higher price tag possibility --its just seemingly rare in this high grade and sharpness--late die state* Sheldon 170. I like that it even got some hints of faded red patches in the and around the legends and tack sharp details--. Seller finally made contact--bravo. {Coin will be showcased for every one to see---------once I take my pictures**

OP paid 55 money for a raw coin, not the best deal, IMO. A label NOT SEALED in a holder has the same value to me as a sticker with a smiley face on it. There's one reason that comes to mind why the seller would sell the coin this way, but I don't want to make an accusation I can't prove.

That's why you use your own knowledge to grade it yourself. It's up to your opinion whether or not the grade matches the label. IMO, a collector is not a numismatist if they refuse/are not able to make an educated opinion on a coin's grade without TPG certification. And BTW, the coin is the same coin certified by the label evidenced by the Heritage auction.
