Nice purchase. They look good to me but must confess I know nothing about Morgans. My heart would skip a beat buying raw coins like that.

I paid $550 for each one. The 89cc will go for $690-$700 on ebay. I watched one that went for $685 earlier. I think the 92cc has been cleaned a little, it's still a killer coin that I could make money on. What would you all grade the 92cc? He's got another 89cc I'm going back to buy in a few weeks but it'll probably be gone. He wants $625 firm, it's a little nicer than this one.

I would recommend sending the 89CC to a TPG as there are many fakes of that one.

Good suggestion. Maybe send both in.

They would definitely sell more easily and probably for more in TPG skabs.

Can we get closeups of the date and mint mark on the 1889 please. From this perspective the 9 almost looks too high and almost like an overall slanted date? While you're at it the date and mm of the 92 would be helpful too. But it looks like VAM 6 or 12

I personally would never buy a 1889 CC raw, only in a slab because they are faked and it is one of the rarest Morgan's. I personally would send both to be graded. Based off photos the 1889cc looks like in the range of F15, while the 92cc looks like AU55 range

You will be hard-pressed to make your money back on that 1892-CC, AU details coins go for around $400-$500. The 1889-CC is either a VAM 2 or VAM 4, not sure which, I would need better pics to conclusively identify it and verify the legitimacy of it. If real, I would say VG10 and priced around $625 for a quick sale, or $675 if you want to let it sit for a bit.

Pretty nasty rim bump on that '89-CC, the '92 looks better.

It appears the 89-CC is both, VAM 2 and VAM 4. It has the high 9 and it appears the CC is tilted left. I'm going to have it graded, it would be an extremely rare coin if true.

Excellent idea to send in the coins in for grading. If the coins straight grade, you made two very good purchases. If the coins detail grade 89CC details rim damage or 92CC details cleaned, you need to re-evaluate the seller and how you buy coins.
