I compiled a list of Buy/Sell prices based on today's price on Providentmetals.com. All buy/sell prices are calculated per oz, and sell price is based on quantity 500+.

Sell* Buy Spread
2015 1 oz ASE 19.25 16.41 2.84
2015 1 oz Maple 18.45 15.91 2.54
2015 1 oz Philharm 17.11 15.66 1.45
2015 1 oz Brit 17.15 15.91 1.24
2015 1 oz Libertad 19.85 16.66 3.19
2015 1 oz Noah's Ark 17.85 15.66 2.19
1 oz Junk ($100 Bag) 21.15 18.16 2.99
1 oz roud 15.95 14.76 1.19
1 oz bar 16.05 14.76 1.29
10 oz bar 15.65 14.66 0.99
5 oz bar 15.95 14.66 1.29

The smaller the spread (buy/sell price difference), the better the deal. You can clearly see that Junk Silver is a rip-off, as well as Libertad, ASE and Maple.

The best deal for the coins, is 1 oz Brittania. The best deal for bullion, is 10 oz Provident prospector bar.

Nice list!

Here is another really "bad" one. All in Canadian Dollars.

1.5 oz RCM Silver Multiple Maples, a $13.92 CA spread. which works out to about $4.55 ca per half once.

Product details

Qty We Sell We Buy
1+ C$43.15 C$29.23
15+ C$42.60 C$29.23

Good analysis Leon.

Too many people just look at the premium on the purchase, not on the sale as well. It is the spread that is important, not the premium as much.

Here is a resource I use for this. It has lots of dealer buy prices for lots of coins.

As of today, the spreads stay about the same. 90% Junk, ASE and maple are still rip-offs.

90% Junk's quality is poor; ASE and maple's mintage are unlimited. There is neither quality nor numismatics, don't understand why the high premium.

I will say the mintages for the silver maples are significantly lower than the ASE's. Do a comparison of each and you'll see what I mean.

Also I think there should be government backed bullion coins/rounds with NO denomination. I'm not sure bullion and numismatics necessarily belong together.
