I came across this in my pocket change today. Needless to say it stopped me in my tracks. Any ideas at what happened to this penny?

Found a 1926 in pocket change? That doesn't happen often and a nice keeper for oddities.

It looks like something or someone partially cut this coin ,warping it in the process. years of circulation have flattened the high points while protecting the lower. Cool find.

I agree. The coin looks like it was pinched but if you look closely you can still see the last ST of TRUST. Very faintly.

The S is tough, but the T is easier to pick up. It is extremely faint.

Looks like someone took a pair of side cut pliers an made a mark on two different areas.

with the cuts, Coop. The complete wear to the ST is odd when the other letters are so strongly pronounced. The IBE also very faint like Struck Through Grease.
