Any ideas on what I have here? The quarter appears normal except for the mint mark.

Any info or thoughts are appreciated.

It could be a die chip but I'm thinking it's related to the damage/MDing on the bottom of the letters of Quarter Dollar

Thanks guys. I'm a newbie learning about dings today. I found several references to rim dings and other types of coins damage. But could not find any reference to a MDing. What is the M short for?
