Ah, a classic case of Split Plate Doubling! Not rare or valuable, quite common on zinclons.

Looks like split plating on the upper portion of the devices perhaps (near the rim) and machine damage at the bottoms of the devices. As tweak notes, you'll see many of these CRH. And you'll see a few different stages. Just MD, and where the copper plate has been compromised, the zinc it subject to the air and deterioration (hydrozincite will form).

I agree split plating is the cause. Sometimes it is mild, other times strong. Just depends on the extreme strike pressure.
