I need some help from forum members, I can't seem to find much information on this bill. The bill doesn't belong to me and I don't have it in my possession. The owner of this bill is looking to sell it and I was trying to get a rough idea of grade and value. I found an old auction with a Vg that was estimated at $600 to $800.

Hi,

Nice note. Looks washed and pressed but is difficult to see from your pictures.

Very Good - $650
Fine - $1000
VF - $1850
EF - $3750

This is from the most recent Charlton guide 8th Edition.

Any idea on grade or are the pictures not good enough?

May I recommend you really doing your homework on this or any other chartered note... Charlton provides great information but similar to their coin catalog the prices listed aren't realistic at all.

The paper money market has been very slow for the past couple of years as well, so it will be hard to determine a realistic value.

You can also check ha.com and lynknight.com and see what, if any, auction results there may be.

also icollector has a good archives... you may not find the exact note... but I don't think this note was ever extremely rare.. so similar notes by the same bank... or similar notes of the same area will give you a better ball park range of price compared to book.

I wouldn't attempt to sell this note raw. Spend the $15 plus shipping at BCS to have it graded or even better at PMG (but more expensive).
