It's a thermal energy thing. At the end of the hubbing the pressure is released and due to heat there is expansion and horizontal movement and a few other things that I really don't understand. I do know it is on the die.

Thanks Coop,for the link. 224, I think you probably want to search nickels anyway. Lol. Seriously though, they are found on pennies also, and I guess all denominations.
