I am not a collector but I do have three Morgans (1887, 1901, and 1921). If you have information on the value, can you please share. I am a newcomer to this site. Thanks, pj

Welcome to the site, Pat. First of all, check the back of the coin, below the wreath (under the eagle) and tell us if there are any letters there. You may find an O, an S, or no letter. Also, are the coins in outstanding condition, or are they damaged in some way?

Pat, if you have the ability to post pics, it will help a lot.

Hi Pat

Actually to get a General value for the coins ,,pictures are absolutely necessisary not optional .

Value is directly related to condition(Grade) and there is no way we can guess at a grade without seeing the coins .

Pictures of both obverse and reverse are needed.

For a decent looking coin in today's market around $20 each!

1901-P is better than 300.00 @ MS-63

the 1901-P doubled die reverse is listed at better than $4000.00 @ MS-60

the 1921 series is absolutely one of the top years for VAM's that can range into the 100's of dollars for certian examples

the 1887-P has at least 2 different overdates that carry a fair premium as well .

again there is no way to give any type of value opinion on these coins without seeing pictures of them .

Pat,

Welcome to the forum!

1899 and Metalman are both correct.

There is a 95+% chance that your coins are worth $15-20 each; however there is a chance that they are of exceptional quality and/or a rare variety that will be worth much more.
