Hello guys

I picked up this 1938 d/d Buffalo nickel a while back , I only paid 10 bucks for the coin so I feel like I got a decent deal ..
I didn't know it was a rpd D over D until I got it home so that was a bit of a bonus !
The coin has a really nice golden color , the obverse is a starting to turn a little darker than the reverse but overall it's a nice coin ..
I believed the coin to unc , that why I purchased it but I'm wondering what everyone here thinks ...
So what would you guys grade this beast ?
My guess was 62-63.

Buffaloes are the hardest for me to grade. Yours could easily be anything up to MS65. The reverse looks to be a decent strike with almost a round horn.

You guys may very well be right and they would be great for a coin I only paid 10 bucks for !
Wouldn't it also bring a bit of a premium with it being a d over d ?
When I first posted this and said my guess was 62-63 , I was basing that opinion on the fact that the slabbed ms64-ms65 buffalos I own have just the greatest luster almost appears to be dripping from the coin ..
Now this coin has flawless surfaces , it's the darker toning that seems to impair some of the luster ...
The coin still have great luster and sharp eye appeal , I just assumed since it wasnt covered in that dripping wet luster that it would grade in lower ms possibly 63 !
I really hope you guys are right as a ms 65 d/d would be a awesome buy for 10 bucks !!

Here's my MS-65 (PCGS) to compare it against. Yours is quite nice. I think it's at least 65.. and could go higher maybe..

Thanks guys

Do you guys thing it would be worth added to my next anacs submission , just to see what happens ?
If you guys are right then a ms65 D/D should have a little more value then a regular ms65 ! Or atleast that's what I've read ..
