My local B&M finally opened back up after just over two weeks for vacation and inventory, and it is looking like a good day was had by all- They were very busy, and I think I scored a nice VAM .

One of the guys I see there frequently was looking through the circ Morgan box, while I was looking at my halves from the melt bag. He keeps handing me coins...Hey, you'll like this one...check this one out...etc etc. Well he knows what I look for and he gave me more than one I kept, this one appeared to have a real nice reverse die crack almost all the way around near the rim, so I put it on the pile.

Grade pics posted, VAM identifier left as link so as not to give it away for those who like to stare.... Any pricing info would be appreciated also, there was one listed on VAMworld in XF for $494 ...if this is even close to realistic, I got a good deal at $14.50.

Way cool, II. This is a tough one to estimate value, because it's in great demand. Let's just say that, at $14.50, you could plan on a pretty decent return on investment....

Right Superdave, I did a little research last night and came up with 4 examples :one on ebay that did not sell at 900 and change, one at teletrade NGC VF-20 sold for $160 in May 07, One at Heritage ANACS AU-55 sold for $661 Nov 04, and Vamquest has one listed PCGS AU-55 with a current bid of $788. Seems that grades above VF-XF are very scarce, and Vamworld describes MS specimens as very rare. I know I am gonna be looking through the MS coins next visit !

This was just a lucky grab on my part, I had no idea it was a "Donkey Tail" when I bought it- I just liked the die crack and the break. Apparently a great find, and will probably never leave my collection.

I am thinking maybe I should start a "Donkey Tail" thread in the variety and error forum to maybe get a little more exposure on this and maybe some more pricing info ...any thoughts ?
