Same here. I've never seen anything like it -- but I have seriously limited experience with this particular coin.

I had the opportunity to loop the coins before buying them at this store. When I seen that it was a double die on both sides, I bought for spot $1120.00 + $40 at the time. I took it. Then I sold it on ebay starting at $1495.00 or buy it now at $2000.00. a buyer pressed Buy Now. so I'm happy with the profit margin. Cool find though.

As my Dad used to say, "Are you pulling my leg?" $2000.00 for a Krugerrand? Well W.C. Fields did say, "There's a sucker born every minute".

Wel Il did see collectors buy varieties I never pay what they did. Collecting is in the eye of the beholder. $126K for a bloody 1969-s DDO penny REALLY?

The buyer flaked on me, now its back up on ebay, $1,595.00 to start. I believe a double die has a premium of at least a couple to three hundred on a 1 oz gold round. It will hit $1,800.00 again or better anyways as I see it one day.

I think you will have a better chance of getting that kind of money if you can get anacs to slab it.
