I have some coins I want to send off, some of which you guys have seen in other forums. was wondering what you think the best idea would be. ANACS is running a promotion for 11.90 per coin up to 20 coins. here is a list of coins and my estimated grades ( and yours)

1941-D 25c DDO fs-101 MS63
1899 Indian head RPD which is unattributed still ms64RB
1944-S 25c DDO fs-101 MS65
1887 morgan VAM-13a MS64
1888 morgan VAM-15a MS64
1945-P 25c DDO fs-101 MS63
1944-P 25c DDO fs-101 AU55
1878-S morgan VAM-19A MS63 possible PL
1964-P 25c Type B MS65
1878-S morgan VAM-36 (possible VAM-113) MS63 (might be cleaned)
1959-P 50c DDR fs-801 (pcgs slab MS64 unattributed)
3- 1979-P SBA widerim (ms60,MS63,MS65)
1981-s SBA MS66

my total investment in the coins is $429
ANACS cost would be $260.50 with attribution for the 1899IH
NGC cost would be $456.00 without attribution for 1899IH,1878svam-36(113),or 1887/1888 VAM.

total ANACS = 689.5
total NGC = 885

I noticed looking through past auctions that unattributed coins go for much less than attributed ones. so what should I do?

ANACS is a second-tier grading company with a long and inconsistent history. Many of the top auction companies do not accept ANACS slabs, with good reason. NGC is the only choice.

I like NGC, and have many of their slabs.

But I have started using ANACS. I have eleven coins with them now
and will send 10 more in before the end of the month.

I would agree there are many coins that would sell better in NGC slabs.

I do feel that NGC and PCGS services are becoming high priced.
You will read threads, on CCF, talking about when it is worth it to
send coins in to be slabbed. For many mid to lower priced coins
it is not worth it to send them into NGC or PCGS. The grading fees
eat into, any profit you might get.

With ANACS, taking advantage of their specials changes the price point,
where it can, make it worth it to send in.

My thoughts are for album class coins, send them into ANACS.
They will get authenticated and assigned a grade. This makes
buyers feel better when bidding on ebay, vs a raw coin.

Looking at your list, I am not sure if all,of them would be coins that
would having an advantage sending in. If they were my coins, I would
research what they sell for, and then make that decision.

I do know a few weeks ago I bought a BU wide rim SBA for less than
NGC grading price.

Lastly, sometimes it does not matter. There is cost involved in any
hobby. If you want them graded, for your collection, and can afford
it, than send them all into the grading service you like best.

I appreciate all the input. I will send most to ngc, I've done my research as far as sold prices at auction and I have plenty of room. With that said, the 1899 IH I need attributed as I've posted here and coin talk with no responses. I also sent it to Russ@ih and have had 0 leads. It's possible it's a new rpd so I will have to have that one sent in to anacs. The vam-36 is only attributed at anacs and the possibility of being the 3rd vam113 makes it well worth sending it to anacs. As for the rest they will go to ngc. I'm waiting on 2 right now that are in "scheduled for grading, both I have posted here, the 1901 ih and 1883cc vam5d. Which the vam5d is the rarest die state of that year/mm. I will sell one or both of those to pay for grading fees. Thanks again

Make sure whomever you send them to will do the attributions you want.
Give them a call first.

You can always send the Morgans to VSS for attribution if you go with NGC. The only one NGC will attribute is the 19A.

Just my Two Cents, I would send your Morgan's to anacs. They are much better in attributions , ie the many VAMS you are sending in. I would send the rest into NGC. I would not bother sending in the SBA's unless you know you have something better than MS67.

The head of anacs's VAM department is john roberts, one of the best in the business and his VAM knowledge is eminse. If your coin is already TPG slabbed then I would send it to john baumgart at vss for his sticker, if it's raw and you want it TPG slabbed and attributed then anacs is the way to go

well NGC then VSS seems to be the way to go. that's a sweet deal and even with shipping its cheaper than NGC. as far as the SBA's, ill hold on to the 79 wides but the 81-s I'm going to send in its quite a gem. thanks guys I always wondered where those stickers on the back of slabs came from.

you're guessing at what you think the grades will come back at? Nothing is certain with a TPG until it comes back.

I like old ANACS white holders. My understanding is that those were they days when ANACS was finicky and often under-graded coins due to this. I have been made to believe that those little white holders are the only ANACS coins worth having. I would go with NGC as well at this point.

Yup, resistance is futile

Vamming is like Chinese finger cuffs, the more you struggle the more you get sucked in
