Here's the ngc coins I was going by before I purchased the icg coin , even after taking several more looks I'm just not seeing much if any difference ..
Please don't take this the wrong way guys I appreciate everyone's input and those that say EF 45 may very well be right ...
I just wanted to show you guys what I was going by and maybe someone can tell me what I'm missing ...
So the first two are ngc au53
The third coin is my icg au53
Finally the forth is ngc au50
I'm just not seeing much difference here ,other than the 45 coins have really no luster at all ... Now the 50 coins have traces that still show and the 53 has a bit more ...

Certainly looks like the ICG grading is consistent with NGC's judgments. I wonder whether the typical 1868 has this level of strike weakness. Or, is it normal for the entire series?

I've only got 2 Shield nickels and both are MS. I'll pull them out of the SDB soon and take a closer look.
