Most 1917's I come across usually have flattened devices and lack of detail. I came across this searchin through mostly cull(hope thats the correct term) coins. it's tough to tell but possibly a DDO? anyway, I think it'd grade low AU or vf-45, though I may be way off. comments appreciated!

It's a nice '17, and I'd go EF (choice?). On the doubling issue, I don't see it but I'd like to see more magnification on the date and .. God We..

as for the photos, ill give it a shot. I think the first photo shows the 7 like the thickness of the horizontal part of the 7 is thicker than the vertical, even tho you cant see the actual line, I dont think it's from flattening.

I'm at 45; just a tad too much wear around the ear to make AU for me.
Rest in Peace

Yeah , I'm at EF-45 Also. Green spot on obverse is either verdigris or a tad of corrosion. Verdi-care should do the trick.

EF-45

If the 1917's you come across have flatten devices and lack detail that's because they're worn. The master hubs were new in 1916 so mint state 1917's almost always have good detail and sharp devices.
