These are part of the inherited collection I am working through. I am pretty sure they are plastic. Is there a reason for a coin collector to have what appears to be plastic play money?

Could they be jade coins or replicas of ones? I just know they exist not much more. They were use for decoration.

Pretty sure they are Siam gaming tokens, used as small change in the areas around the businesses. Most of the ones I've seen like that are glass, but many different materials were used. Clay, tin, zinc, brass, leather, porcelain.

I have a small collection of different types of these tokens and I don't have one like that. I tried to send you an email but your settings are such that it says you don't want to receive email.

@ allranger
I will look at my settings. I am fine with email. I am pretty sure they are plastic though. They are very light and have a ridge around the middle like they were done in a mold. I will see if I can take some photos of the rim to show you.

Here is an example I found of vcoins:

I haven't seen a glass one in person though, so I can't give a weight.

Interesting, Those also seem to have a seam at the side. I will have to look closer at them and let you know.

I would try one but I am pretty sure that may be considered cleaning and I have been told NEVER clean coins.

Hi all,

these are genuine Siamese glass gambling tokens. They are probably about 150 to 200 years old. Sometimes they are offered in auctions on ebay for about 80 to 100$ each.
The nomination is 1 Fuang and 1 Salung. The Fuang is more rare. The Salung glass token is listed in the Koehler-Osbar catalogue (Siamese Porcelain Tokens catalogue, 1995) as KO #38.
