Hello all,

Have the following set and curious to have more detail about it.

1964-USA-Coin-Set

1964-USA-Coin-Set

Not sure if done via the USA mint or not.

Possible value of this set will also be appreciated.

Many thanks in advance for the valuable assistance I'm sure to receive.

Regards,
Mike

I'm pretty sure this is not a U.S. Mint issue. as far as value goes ; it has collector value of about $10 . IMHO

I did a cursory web search - couldn't find anything like it. Suggests to me that it's definitely not a Mint product. Likely put together as a cheap souvenir?

Looks like someone cut out a 1964 mint set and put it in a custom holder. Pretty common, as 1964 is one of the more popular years for being the final year of 90% silver coins.

Since the public knew the silver coinage was ending in 1965, pretty much everybody with an interest in collecting set aside uncirculated 1964 coins. They are so common that their value over melt is insignificant. You are looking at a little over half an ounce of silver-melt value of about $7. $10-15 sounds reasonable.

If you don't need the money urgently, hold on to it. These can spike up to $50 when silver is high.

The Mint would not mix coins from different branches in a set containing only one coin from each denomination. This set contains coins from both the Denver and Philly Mints.

Nice set although not a Mint Set. However, nicely done layout. Odd you have it in Africa. Guess out coins move around a bit. Good looking set.

Looks like the start of some nice toning on the half dollar!
