What The Heck Is Wrong With This 1993 Jefferson Nickle?

It's almost charocoal color. I then flip it over, and the bottom of the Jefferson memorial is straight. The words are kind of rippled to. Anyone know what it is and or if it's worth more than a nickle. I put a circulated 1981 along side for comparison. It's not chipped off either. Report this Post to the Staff

The deformation is interesting... no doubt PMD, but not quite sure how... (grease) At first I thought it was distorted along the base line, but the porch is slightly lower. Also the MONTECELLO is weak in that area as well. So that is what I think the cause is.
