Stuck On 2 Unknown Coins - Coin Community Forum

dohcollector Valued Member Belgium 464 Posts	Posted 09/27/2015 04:28 am hello CCF as I am still going tru my coins I accuired I found these specimens i had soaked them in olive oil for atleast a week and they came out a bit better. so after a acetone bath I started to go tru them . and these 2 caught my attention. i tryed to look for'm (as I always do) but I don't have much to go on. first pic has ONNOCON written on it positioned next to a bigger N with a 8 or a B between the legs of that letter N and the reverse show 2 figures weight = 6.1 grams you can c the measurements cleary shows 2 angels with a K in the middle under the K are 2 letters NH ? NA? HH? reverse is badly damaged but I think I do c 2 figures on the coin weight 8.50 grams i know its not alot to go on but I come to know some of you are quite good at this :) Edited by dohcollector 09/27/2015 04:34 am Report this Post to the Staff

It isn't ONNOCON It is ANNO written vertically next to a large M and I think CON running horizontally below (for Constantinople Mint?) You are right some of the followers of this forum are very good with this stuff, I think you will get some answers. I however am not among those gifted with being good at attributions. echizento Moderator United States 23731 Posts	Posted 09/27/2015 08:57 am I wish there was just a little more detail on the first coin, but from what I can see I believe it A Byzantine follis of the emperor Heraclius. The two figures looking at the coin are Heraclius on the left and his son Heraaclius Constantine on the right. I can't make out the date but it is from the second officane B and from the Constantinople mint. I believe it is SB-810 but I can't say for sure. I have no idea on the second coin though.
