Is this an RPM? I can't find anything on RPM's for 1971.

Looks like an RPM,there are two pages worth on CC's site. Try a match.

I forget about coppercoins since for some reason it doesn't always work for me. To me it looks like -002. Thanks John1

In your case there are markers in your picture that match rpm 2 coppercoins photo. Most of the time people here will need photo's of the marker areas to match before saying yah nice find. This does look like 1971D-1MM-002; does your coin have coppercoins markers?

nice find...it seems to me (only my opinion) that the 70's RPM's are relatively uncommon - as far a finds go. I have only found 1 (a 1970D - RPM 003, atributed by Mike Piazza). yours is a nice find...

it has 2 of the 4 markers, the one by the L in Liberty and the one between the pillars. Thanks everyone for looking!!
