If this is fake I have NO IDEA how it's done. I've looked the coin over w/a loupe and find no evidence of tampering with the planchet.
I also have a short video clip of me turning the coin over in my fingers if it will help. If this is a common fake I'll bet someone will say so pronto!
Usually done as Magicians coin. A good machinist Will use a lathe and go on the inside of the rim to remove the reverse of the quarter and then cut down another reverse to sizable to squeeze into there. Look closely on the inside of the rim on whichever side I'm trying to see if you can notice the difference also try a drop test to see if it sounds different than a regular quarter
Put it in a small wood box or glass jar and shake it around. This should cause the 2 pieces to split. I recently found a kennedy that I almost put into a roll but as I was inserting it I noticed that it sounded hollow when it was rubbing against another real one. Low and behold it has a Mexican peso eagle reverse attached to the other side of the kennedy reverse so it could be flipped to either show the regular rev or the peso rev... It ALMOST got rolled and sent to the bank if I hadn't heard that sound. That's how good they can be
