I don't see anything majorly wrong with the grade. I'm guessing the close-ups are magnifying small marks, as the second set of pictures makes the coin look a lot better. I probably would have said MS-66 too, if I hadn't already known the grade.

Why do you think it is over-graded?

IMHO, the gouges, granted small, on the cheek, upper jaw, lower jaw and shoulder are in the focal points of the coin and distract, there is a scratch below the M of AMERICA, also distracting. Based on my interpretation of the grading standards, this wouldn't go above a 64. Am I way off?

I'm surprised someone would slab any Lincoln Memorial cent, though yes,I know some people are serious about making a set of top-grade LMCs.

Maybe the reply should have been "Why would anyone slab a '58-D LWC"?

It's a Wheat cent, by the way

I'd say it's overgraded, too.

I think it would have graded MS-66 the small marks you see are probably on the holder.
Look at the cart wheel luster and those wheat stalks, excellent looking coin.

Bright luster, nice fields....66 all day long. A couple of tiny hits won't keep in out of 66.
