here is the sellers messaging to me, earlyer he was selling morgans and this was included in the lot, he sold all the morgans, but did not sell this. his message, "This is a great buy because I'm not selling to make profit. I'm selling to unload my fathers inheritance collection. I have no idea about coins at all. I sold many already ... This coin cost more than listed. Goodluck ..." my message "since its a 45 minute drive, and I dont want to waste either of our times, can you send a few up close pictures of the coin? around where it says liberty in the ribbon, and on the back in the arrows thanks, john. " he then said that he didn't have time too, even though we had exchanged many emails within an hour late at night. should I have trusted my gut feeling on this coin?

The reverse looks wrong, and the scroll obverse is definitely wrong -- I suspect a forgery (cast copy), especially combined with the evasive seller; and if he inherited it and had no knowledge about coins, how would he have known what it "cost?"

here is the sellers last message btw. 1. You are the one that was not truthful. We discuss to meet to see the item. Later you change and decide to make me do more work for nothin. "the work was taking the pictures on his smartphone" 2. He weighed the coin and inspected. He was happy and I sold it. He wanted to see the rest of my coins and I agreed. 3. The guy the bought the 3 paid good money but I had 2nd thought on the trade, he offered $170, I declined. 4. Lesson of the Day: When you see something good, jump on it asap. You snooze, you loose. Accept your defeit and move on to the next. Somebody that deserved it more won. Honesty will get you far. Because his willing to pay $185 but I gave it to him cheaper $160, why he is an honest and nice guy. He showed up exactly time promised. Learn from your mistake. Don't be deceitful. You wanna meet, meet. That is the best proof you can ask, the coin in your hand. Goodluck ...

"Sore looser ... Thank God you are not getting any of my collection. You did not deserve the bounty. That I'm so happy about. I made another friend and a business partner. Win win situation. You.Sorry no profit for you. Big time loss. Big time .... Heh heh ..." i called him out as a scam artist. he got angry. lol.
