I have been considering making an offer on the coin attached below. I really like the obverse. If the coin graded MS 64 PL, I would be OK with the price. If the coin graded MS 64 (NO PL) or below, then, I would lose about $200.

There is no way to say for sure that the obverse or reverse are PL let alone DMPL from the seller's photos but the reverse does appear to have more of a cartwheel affect. Ask the seller to supply pictures of the depth of reflection of print on the obverse and reverse fields.

No way this thing is PL or DMPL, even less a MS-64.

Fields are terrible. Weak strike (look at hair above ear.) Low MS details, cleaned (both sides).. and raw? No way I'd even consider gambling on this one, and I have been known to gamble.

Personally, I stay away from any coin with DMPL or PL listed in the title but not on a slab.

Not DMPL. I wouldn't touch these morgan's at all, because often times the pictures are juiced, and/or the lighting makes it look better then it really is.

Thanks for the grades and comments. I needed a reality check as I was tempted to break one of my rules that I shall not buy raw PL or DMPL coins from photo. I am going to pass on the coin.
