I missed out on the checklist posting made back in 2014, and now the link is no longer active for the checklist. I am putting an entire set together, and need a list for Business Strikes, Proof Like Strikes from Mint Sets, Specimen Strikes, and Proof only issues. A checklist of what exists for each date in each category will work fine, but mintage information would be a plus because I add this to my holders. So far, all I have are the mintages for the Business strikes, but nothing for the other versions. I am collecting from 1920 through 2012.

The site helps some and this list will help some too. Thanks. Is this list for Business Strikes from Bank Rolls? You do not happen to have Proof only issues in your album or Specimen Strikes?

What I am attempting to do is collect Business Strikes from Bank Rolls, Proof-Like Strikes from Mint Sets, Specimen Strikes from Specimen Sets, and Proof Only Issues from Proof Sets. I have a list, but it seems to have incorrect information for some of the coins in PL starting in 2000 through 2012. It said that there were no PLs for 2011 or 2012, but I see them listed on ebay. Also, my list called for a 2007 Copper Plated Steel Magnetic PL, and did not list a Zinc non-magnetic version. Obviously, this is incorrect. Also, I found mintages using a Disco Album, and the Royal Canadian Mint, but do not have correct information for 2010, because the Mint reported incorrect numbers, and then failed to correct the information on their 2011 and 2012 annual reports.

Thank you for helping me though, because this will help me confirm my list. It will not help for all the information I want, but it does help. Thanks. :)

matttheriley - you did a decent job with your analysis. You have some varieties that I am not tracking/collecting. The only one I have listed that you do not is the 2008 Non magnetic. I own one bought on ebay. I believe it is a proof from a year set.

Interesting, I did not realize there was a 2008 non-mag! It's not listed on the C&C site. Do you have a reference for it?

Just checked my folder and it looks like I have a proof for the 2008 non-mag space. I remember looking this up before and all the information I could find led me to believe they were only available in proof sets.

If I were collecting that list, the first thing I would do is delete every "variety" off of it that starts with "hanging" or "double"...but that's just me :)

The hangers are actually my favorite variety :). The doubling I could do without but still collect them just for completion lol.

You can look at what is contained in the various PCGS registry set collections. They have a set for most type of collections. I have a similar opinion to 1cent, hangers, doubling etc... are not my thing, but to each their own. I don't think the PCGS sets include different metal compositions, but you can start with them and add to your own list from there.

http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/set...n.aspx?c=383

They also have sets based on monarch, date range, finish etc...

My long term objective is a complete Business Strike set from the basic PCGS list + a few other varieties that I find interesting, 2 years in, 40 more years to go.

I do not know why you put that Proof coin in your folder? You should carefully remove it without touching the coin and place it in a coin capsule. If you leave it in that folder, it is going to get damaged. It may already have issues.

I know you guys like to collect the hangers, but are they not machine damage? I only collect a few main error varieties, or I avoid them altogether. However, I know that error collector purest do not collect machine damage coins. What I mean, in case you do not know, is that some errors are where the die was doubled or had an error on it, so every coin minted with that die came out with the error. Machine damaged errors are where the machine slips or strikes a coin twice to cause a doubling effect or something of that nature. Die errors are very rare, and often command larger monetary values. Machine damage is rare, but far more common, and often are not collected. For instance, if you find the 1969-S Lincoln Cent with a true doubled die it is worth $25,000, but if you find the more common Machine Doubling variety, it is worth $1 to the average collector and nothing to the purest error collector.
