Greetings, all. I was browsing ebay the other day and came across this. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/221904150539 I ran the PCGS serial number and it showed up on the site. http://www.pcgs.com/cert/25333029. I have not checked if it is in a registry set yet, and I do not know a whole lot about Morgans either, however I'm sure it is fake due to the sellers location and having no feedback. If it is fake, how would I go about letting PCGS know? Edited by Spartan Hybrid 10/06/2015 10:06 pm

Welcome to the Forum! At the bottom of the homepage at PCGS.com is the "Contact Us" link as well as phone numbers you can call. I have no idea how they respond to these reports. You can also use the "Report This item" link on the ebay item page. It's buried in tiny print on the right side of the item page. ebay kinda makes it hard to report this stuff. They are also slow to get to them. If CCF's Bobby sees this he has an inside track at ebay and can get action taken pretty quickly.

Thank you for the warm welcome, Cascade and westernsky! I sent the seller a message the other day inquiring if they cold post more photos but have yet to receive a reply. I doubt I will hear back from them, though.
Thank you for letting me know how to contact PCGS. I will send an email off to to them in a few minutes.

Bobby! Where are you?
Very low-quality counterfeit and easy to detect. Notice how clean and pristine the fields are and how mushy the details are.
Strike 1: San Fransisco strikes are rarely mushy.
Strike 2: Coin has the appearance of a BU coin, not an EF-45.
Strike 3: coin does not match photos of the actual coin.

Even with the inadequate image, the clearly mis-oriented date is all you need note to be certain it's a phony, and by extension the slab is bogus as well.

A seller with 0 feedback selling a key date Morgan, first red flag. An obvious fake, the item is still listed on ebay.

Looks like it is gone. Thank you to those who reported it. Didn't want to see anyone get suckered. Admin/Mod can close or lock this thread if they'd like as the coin is no longer on ebay to view.
