Hello everyone!! I've only been home a month, so I have a lot of catching up to do. I've been in hospital from May 5 - Sept.4 2015. I had a total hip replacement, so my hip is pain free!! However, I've dislocated it 3 times, with the first time 5 days post surgery. So I'm just starting stage two of physio therapy, however there's many restrictions, like no bending past 90 degrees. This one I find very frustrating, since it really restricts alot of movement. Especially when I want to look at coins I've packed away in April. I'm still not allowed to do much, so I'm starting to get bored. So I thought to catch up on with what's new on the forum!! How is selling going for members, and has there been any hot new coins since the moon mask set. This is where I left off, as I had to prepare my home for my recovery. I have packed away all my coins which I regret, since the bending rule doesn't allow me to get into where I've packed them away. I'm pleased they all remain safe, since I was away 4 months. For now I will need to remain a spectator since no spare cash for coins. I did peak at ebay and I find the second haunted coin disappointing. Mainly due to hoping they'd do one of last yrs designs which I loved. The last lost ships coin does look interesting. I look forward to reading members news & insights! *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Great to hear from you! I'm glad you're on the road to recovery and back on CCF! It's been a relatively quiet time for me personally re: RCM NCLT issues. The ever-growing number of novelty releases by the RCM has made it easy for me to sit on the sidelines for most issues. From what I can tell, however, the number and degree of "hot" RCM releases has shrunk quite noticeably with very few being highly sought after by collectors. Maybe now that you're back things will change! Good luck with your continued recovery!

I'm also wondering if members think or know if RCM will be reducing offerings the coming year? Will they continue to pump out random coins? I saw commercials for the $20 bugs bunny coin, I wasn't impressed and feel the same about the glass coin. However, what's the bugs bunny coin connection to Canada, I don't get it?

Hey there PC50! Can't say I know much about the NCLT side of things... but welcome back.. hope the recovery goes well... With respect to selling.. I've started to sell some of my coins... I did a few auctions off of kijiji... it was fun and realized some pretty fair prices. It has me thinking I'd like to maybe start a month on ebay and see how that goes.

Welcome back too, as I mentioned before, at the Halifax RCNA met a RCM rep what has bugs bunny connection to Canada, he was very honest nothing, they are just carpet bombing the hobby with endless useless themed coins and in fact will become the Franklin mint every thing will become bullion value. I am almost sure the Queen would not be too pleased to share a coin with looney tunes figures, basiclly nothing is hot.

Hi John, it's disappointing to hear they aren't even sticking to Canadian links for the coins! I do wish they would cut back on Mintage & offerings! It's very disappointing to purchase new releases, only to have the purchase prices drop within a few months. It seems gone are the days of coins like some of the 2007. I still can enjoy the hobby by reading forums. I do have plenty of coins to look at. When I do venture back into purchasing it will be in circulation coins much more affordable!! Only downside the designs don't change.

[ve been enjoying the forum posts and still learning plenty. I'm wondering if anyone else with a hip replacement has gotten back to normal movement after healing completely. This no bending past 90 degree, or sitting in a tub is annoying. Would like to hear how others have managed with a new hip!

Welcome back PC50! Glad to here you're on the mend. Haven't had hip replacement (shoulder replacement for both shoulders) but no hip replacement. I'm not sure this will help and please don't let it discourage you. Each shoulder took a full year before I got back anything that resembled normal movement again. The shoulder is similar to the hip in that it is a ball and socket joint.
My surgeries were 10+ years ago so I'm hoping technology has moved forward since my surgeries. One thing I can tell you is LISTEN to your therapists! Mine were amazing and while it took a long time I did get better. I will never have 'full' range of motion again but it's close. It does get easier and better with time but it's important to listen to your therapists and doctors!
Good Luck in your recovery I hope you're moving more normally soon. It's good to hear from you on the forum!
Happy Collecting!
