Obviously the Franklin Mint is a joke by now but I wasn't expecting this I am Catholic myself, and I believe that he is a great guy, but this is not the way to celebrate. Even funnier, they are all sold out! They are legal tender, so you could spend this to get a laugh out of a cashier

That has to be the gaudiest defacement of currency I have seen to date.

Yeah... Mostly grandmas and such that are sucked into thinking that they are collectible.

I'm Catholic too and would gladly pay for one of those. By pay I mean $3

To some I suppose it's worth the money. Most of us here are not "some" -- $17 is too rich for my blood. Like rollhunter31 I might be a buyer at $3 (as a gift for my Catholic friends ) I really thought the Franklin Mint had been defunct for many years until I saw this little treasure. Wow.

The central portrait make the Pope look like the puppet master behind the shadow government Wait, don't tell the NSA I said that.

I find this interesting... Many thought a Catholic President (Kennedy) would be a puppet for Rome and consider all of the people who freaked over the fantasy Amero coin. Now, just imagine the conspiracy nuts when they find one of these in their change.

This is trashier looking than Rosanne Barr's house on her TV show with John Goodman. IS his face on it enough? Sure they didn't want to replace all the members of the Continental Congress with his head too? That's an ungodly eye-sore to say the least!
Osprey, you might have a job designing bills at the BEP. I can see Thing 1 and Thing 2 on the $1 and $2 bills respectively. and where the added seal is the Caht in the Hat's hat. Brilliant!
I will offer only 1 good thing to say about this $2 from the fake Mint, it only looks half like Monopoly money compared to all the other current bills the BEP makes. Might even be why the heads on the back weren't replaced to let the real designs be the worst ones out there. But it's still an atrocity and tacky looking.

When you see them for sale everywhere and eventually showing up in CRH you will only have yourself to blame.

I should ask the Franklin Mint if they have any open design jobs! You're welcome.
