This one's a copper follis from the middle period of the Byzantine Empire.

This coin seems to be Sear# 1760, issued in the name of the junior emperor Romanus I (920-944 AD). The four lines of Greek-Latin text on the reverse reads: "+RWMA/N EN ThEW BA/SILEVS RW/MAIWN", which translates to "Romanus, by grace of God, King of the Romans". Apparently these coins are quite common; Sear says they "appear to have been issued in great quantities".

I'm not sure of the "going rate" today. My edition of Sear is quite old (1974!) and gives a price of £6. I just checked and found out I have one just like it, in slightly worse condition, that I paid AU$15 for in 2005.

I paid 25 USD for this coin. Perhaps some too more.

Not as common as you may think, I don't have one in my collection yet. $25.00 isn't a bad price.

Echizento, I think it is normal price but condition... likely poor.
