Hey everyone, I am new to this site, and pretty much clueless when it comes to error coins so Id like to ask you guys for help. I found a 1901 Indian Head cent but the back side of it is almost all silver. Also the coin does not it the same thickness all around. any idea what this might be and if it is worth getting it slabbed and how much it might be worth?

Welcome to the CCF, Dr86! Great site, this. Offhand, this looks like PMD to me. Close-up pics would command more CCF attention and solicit more accurate opinions. Over the years, I've seen many silver-plated Indian cents that were once used in jewelry.

Looks dipped in something, or plated, you might get more people to reply if you get some nice close-ups.

Thanks for helping me out ! Ill post as many pictures as needed, just let me know if I need to take more. Is there any way I can test and see if this coin has been dyed ?

Perhaps a jeweler or hobbyist once experimented with a plating application? It doesn't look dyed to me.

I think you should just buy another IHC. They cost 40c for the common ones at my LCS.
