Looks like a pocket piece to me. Possibly to remove hairlines or to just brighten it up but I'm going with ex-pocket. Price is decent

Washed out dull look indicative of cleaned silver. Price is very fair though. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on it.

Are you trying to complete a set of Morgans? It is a pretty good price for a 1889CC in good condition. If I were trying to complete a set and I was not a millionaire I would probably buy it. You can get one for in the neighborhood of $1250 in VF condition if you ever see one in that condition according to price guides.

I generally flip but this one I'll hold. I like to buy keys.

I am seeing the coin as maybe being dipped or conserved vs improperly cleaned. If I was looking for one in this price range, I would have no problem buying, and Caacade makes a good point of it being pocket piece.

It does have that dipped look.

I'm sorry but the only thing appealing to that coin is the price. It has been harshly cleaned, and I am totally surprised that PCGS didn't note that on label .

Whatever on the possible cleaning. Maybe a raccoon had it for a while. I don't like the reverse rim ding, but it's fit to pull out of the holder and go back in a pocket.

VT ... IMHO, you can likely pick up a raw VG-8 for that money at a show. Low grade Morgans, even the keys, tend to be relegated to dealer boxes. I'd bide my time. If you have money to burn, grab another Fugio!

Some days like today I feel like I have been harshly cleaned and dipped in acetone for way too long. Coins.....I feel you!
