Just bought this off a local collector. Awesome coin I think. What do you think grade wise? Paid $250 I am thinking ms63ish. Coin is definitely better in hand.

Hi, I think the reverse looks awesome and I would agree with a 63, but on the obverse the hair in the center, especially near the cheek seems to be missing detail and almost makes it look like an AU-55. Weak strike maybe? Any break in the luster around there? Anyway, great pickup for that price.

From what I have researched 21 peace are hit and miss with strike due to the high relief aspect. Reverse is extremely nice with full eagle feathers so I'm thinking obverse was weakly struck. My guy had 2 21s but I thought this one was the better of the two. I'm so glad it wasn't cleaned.

The hair can typically be very flat, so I wouldn't worry about that. Photos are just kinda hard to see, a bit flat, and probably the lighting or angle. Will have to trust your judgement in hand when you bought it. Nice coin. I have a slabbed AU58 I paid about $125 for.

I think 63 would be a fair grade for this beauty.

Really hard coin to grade from pictures because of reverse strikes. I think your okay on this one. Looks pretty strong and nothing jumps out and says ware. Plus eye appeal. I know it doesn't add a premium but at $250 for a 21 nice coin

The contact on the coin looks in the MS 63 range. The coin appears to be lacking luster and the graders love to put the low luster Peace dollar coins in the AU 58 bracket.

AU-58, from these photos it does not appear to be an MS coin.

That's why 21 Peace dollars are finicky cause the high relief coins have mixed luster and strike....look via pcgs coin facts about 21' Peace dollars they always have strike or luster issues. Coin is getting sent to NGC as I said coin is way better in hand than photos

Well my friend got results PCGS said unc details cleaned....I call bs on that. I may get a second opinion, same thing with PCGS grading my 91s a ms62, when it should be a solid a 63/64 (unfortunately I didn't get pics of it), why does it seem PCGS is getting more finicky.

I believe it. With the pics not really showing must luster at all, honestly looks like a dull cleaning.
