Too much glare in the photos to tell for sure.

Looks uncirculated but based off glare could be bad lighting or possibly cleaning or polished

Quote: Have you weighed this? The weight of the coin is paramount in determining authenticity for Trade dollars, there are alot of really good knock-offs on the market & this coin appears to be in great shape.

That is the correct weight of a real Trade dollar that's a good sign.

The luster doesn't look right for a high-grade Trade dollar but the glare makes it hard to tell. I see hairlines especially in the left obverse field that suggest the surfaces aren't original. Design elements look pretty accurate though I notice the outstretched hand looks deformed. The denticles look OK. Head detail is soft but that is pretty common on genuine pieces. There are some marks in the right reverse field that look raised; that could be evidence of a cast forgery. The correct weight is reassuring but I wouldn't touch a coin like this without authentication by a reputable grading service. Are you considering a purchase?

It looks correct but heavily cleaned or polished.

Thanks v much for your feedback to date. So, I did submit to PCGS and it came back as "authenticity unverifiable"!! Still levels me with no certainty one way or the other. Down right counterfreits tend to come back from PCGS as "counterfreits". Guess they can't tell in this case either.

Wow, maybe you can toss it in with an ANACS submission sometime and see what they say.
