1. Guy bought a coin only listing. After he received it he complained about not getting a COA with it.
2. Almost a month later, without previous contact, he opened a Paypal dispute claiming he didn't receive the item. (I suspect he did this through Paypal so they couldn't see the
ebay message thread where he stated he already received it).
3. He was given a refund. Nothing else you can do with Paypal of course.
4. With no further contact, a few minutes after receiving the balance of the refund, he escalated the dispute to a claim instead of closing it out. Trying to get yet another full refund in addition to the coin and the refund he already received! Took my wife half an hour on the phone to get Paypal to shut that down!
He has also stated that the address he has set on his Paypal account is not actually his own address.
Paypal stated that he is using multiple Paypal accounts to further complicate things.
Do with this information what you will.
p.s. We deal with hundreds of honest sellers and buyers through
ebay. But every so often one like this pops up. All you can do is block them, leave a warning in their feedback (has to be +ve so, as a buyer/seller, make sure you go and read some of the feedback and don't just accept a high feedback score at face value) and post them here and/or on other forums. If you sell enough volume then add a dollar to the shipping charges to cover cases like this (we do this on lower valued items). If you're an occasional seller then ship with tracking. And signature if the value is greater than $825CDN. Thanks for the opportunity to vent! :-)
