Longacre Doubling. It was done purposely as part of the design.

Yes, there are different die varieties on IHC. The newest book on these varieties is Snow's 3rd edition

Here's the two book set for sale on ebay 181785960996

The book also comes as a PDF which is cheaper than having a physical book. http://www.indiancent.com/index.php....ViUoOH6rTIU

I will say that unless you are going to actively pursue IHC varieties, you'll be better off spending your money on coins.

thank you MeadowviewCollector I don't think I will activly persue the varieties, although I have a great deal of ICH cents
just missing the pre 1864's and 1866-1879 -'74
i was just wondering what the cataloge would set me back and you answerd that....kinda :)

but yeah, looks like buying the books is to rich for my blood.
if it would be 30-50$ then I could live with that

If you're after a book that has a date by date analysis then you might want to look into acquiring a copy of A Guide Book of Flying Eagle and Indian Head cents it is a more affordable than the one I listed above.

And - Now that Rick's latest two volume set is out, his older attribution guides are going for pretty good prices on ebay and other used book sites, I've seen some at under $20.00 lately, they used to bring $50+ the only thing with the latest book, is he has added a lot of newer varieties and much better text and photos. The older guides are still quite relevant. If you are really into the IHC consider joining the Fly-In club, another great resource and they publish a fantastic journal too.
