Miles Standish Joins NGC

NGC - NGC welcomes prominent numismatist and coin grader Miles Standish as vice president.

Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) is pleased to welcome Michael "Miles" Standish, a prominent numismatist, coin grader and industry innovator. As an NGC vice president, Standish's responsibilities will include oversight of NGC's widely popular modern and bulk submission programs.

Standish has been a professional numismatist for more than three decades and most recently served as Senior Grader and Vice President of Business Development at Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS).

"We are delighted that Miles has decided to take a position with NGC," says Mark Salzberg, chairman of NGC. "He is a trusted industry veteran with many great ideas for how to grow the collectible coin hobby."

A highly knowledgeable numismatist, Standish has published numerous award-winning articles and books including Morgan dollar: America's Love Affair with a Legendary Coin, which recently won "Best Specialized Book" from the Numismatic Literary Guild (NLG). Standish is also a respected coin grader and authenticator having handled many of the greatest US rarities such as the finest 1913 Liberty nickel and the finest 1804 Dollar.

In the last 10 years Standish has become particularly well known for his innovations in the modern coin market and his keen ability to create successful certification programs for dealers. Standish's creativity and strategic insights will serve to expand and enhance NGC's modern and bulk submission programs.
