I guess my first question would be is this a specimen strike? I'm just going with what was written on the coin flip. Second question would be is it common to have errors on specimen strikes?

Absolutely... especially the nickel dollars and 25-cents. For some reason, the 25c coins are prone to seeing machine doubled dates.

yes, those are very nice photos. Just enough lighting contrast to bring out 3D.

In the US, errors on proofs are common in most denominations, particularly the Lincoln 1-cent that I collect.
