Hello all. So, I have 4 OBW rolls of 1967 Kennedy half dollars, so I have 80 halves total. I was the first one to open them. I looked through them all and picked out (what I thought) were the best looking ones to be graded. I sent out four to PCGS, one came back MS63, two came back MS64, and one came back MS65. MS63 & 64 are not worth it to get graded (to me), since they sell for about $10, while the cost of grading is $16 per coin, plus other fees.

SO my question is, for the remaining coins that I have - before I send anymore out to be graded - what should I be looking for? What high points should be there? While comparing the 65 to the 64; I noticed just one difference and that was the neck feathers on the reverse, the 65 was struck a little better, but other than that I didnt see any other differences. Any other features I should check for? Thank you!

The whole grading thing is subjective and depends on eye appeal, which includes strong strike, number and position of bag marks, toning and anything that may detract from the "beauty" of the coin. I've seen 65 graded coins that I wouldn't pay any premium for and 63 graded coins that looked spectacular. Also, the bigger the coin, the more bag marks are tolerated for a 65 or higher grade.
