I'm interested in the grade on this one, but also have concerns about authenticity. Does the mint mark look slightly high to anyone else? It appears to be in position 3, but the top of the S looks like it is slightly above the bottom of the 9's (instead of being in line with the bottom). *** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***

Detail looks AU with some environmental damage in play. The S? Well the coin needs to be authenticated regardless of what I think but I would be concerned until it made a round trip to a major TPG.

The "S" looks to be a different color than the date.. Or, it just seems that way with the photo, this coin always has to be authenticated before one buys it.

Thanks to both of you. I'm always quite skeptical of non-TPG ones, but this one just strikes me as being a bit off and I'm going to pass on it.

I cannot match this to any of the four well-known obverse dies for the SVDB.

Color, spacing, and M/M appearance are wrong, and that's once you get past this being the ultra-rare "Fat Nose" variety...

I also noticed an extra piece of hair on Lincolns forehead that I have never seen on a Lincoln Cent
