I just bought my first OBW roll. Its a roll of 1960-D Lincolns. I was wondering, are all the coins from one particular die? Or are they from many different dies?

So...in theory if you get a roll with RPM #001 you would have fifty examples of that RPM?

No I usually find about 5 dies per roll . Like I have a roll of 1954 s and there are 7 of the same rpm, 14 of this one with a die chip over the 9, 9 with a weird notch probably a die chip by the W, 9 with nothing remarkable at all on them I'm assuming they are from the same die. Then 11 with a die crack on reverse right wheat. . Even new 2015 rolls I have gone through I got a box from the bank of 2015 pennies all the same. They where litterally all the same 5 or so dies. I could tell by the different die cracks on the top of the shield. I imaginge they don't change how they load and ship them.

No, usually 3-4 die pairs per roll. Sometimes just 1 die pair.

I agree, not all from the same die.

I have never found a whole roll that were from the same die. 1960-D cents are fun to get, should find some nice RPMs in there!

Maybe this is a dumb question. What is "OBW"? I am not familiar with that term.

Thanks guys! From what I can tell I got 4-5 different die pairs. Didn't get any of the impressive seperated rpm's, but I did get some nice split serifs! I really must say that the old cooper pennies in their fully uncirculated blazing golden luster are BEAUTIFUL! Maybe its just me but the zinc's just don't "pop" like that. .... One last thing I have to add, like I said earlier this was my first OBW, but I can tell you it won't be my last. I LOVE IT!
