First thing... This is the first ICG coin I have ever purchased. I want your opinions on if this coin would get the PO-01 grade? This coin was very hard to photograph given the condition. The date is pretty identifiable if held just right. I will post the grade by tomorrow morning at the latest. Let me know what you think. ICG was even able to tell that this is the Large O variety.

Another question....Do you think PCGS would grade it as a P-01?

Might have enough detail left for F-2! Obverse has a full outline, a few letters, and an identifiable date. Leaves room for there be a lesser grade.

I seem to be in the minority on a Fair Grade. Since its such a beautiful day down here in South Florida and its the Weekend Eve, lets think optimistically on this one and bump it up to a Fair! Full outline, letters and date on the front, and a little image still holding out on the reverse (hang in their buddy!) The general guidelines posted on Heritage as as follows. I think this gets a Fair2.

Quote:
Poor (PO-1): Barely recognizable. Large parts of the design will be completely flat. The date may be barely visible or completely missing. Also known as Basal State.
Fair (FR-2): Rims worn well into the design. There should be outlines of some of the images visible on both sides of the coin, but the lettering may be completely gone. Enough of the date should be visible to identify the coin.
About Good (AG-3): Most of the design of the coin will be outlined, but the rims will generally have worn far enough into the design to obliterate parts of the lettering or stars. Sometimes referred to as Almost Good.

I could be pushed to say a FR-2 based on the guidelines, but if I was selling this coin I would call it P-1 to be safe and truthful. Just me and how I am.

I have actually always wanted a true certified PO-01 coin but I was never willing to pay the crazy premium for them. I stumbled across this one already certified for a good price and it just so happen to be a CBQ which is my favorite series.
