I just read on ebay community forum, that racketeering charges have been brought against ebay for the selling of counterfeit products. Sadly no mention was made regarding coins. It was alleged negative feedback deleted and ebay failed to take any action. One article states they bought 200 fake items in the course of doing their research. It would be great if the RCM would contact the law firm of R Rex Paris who is handling the case in the states. I wonder if they if will have a positive impact on coin sales. There's an article in counterfeit report. com mar.30 2015 on ebay lawsuit.

Thanks!

With the Superman, Bugs Bunny, etc. Coins the holders of the intellectual property rights in those images will likelly be a bit more aggressive in protecting against counterfeiting of those coins.

Warner Brothers and Marvell DC, are third parties, it's first up to RCM to act, one would think one nasty letter from the crack RCM legal team should do the trick, yet nothing seems to happen. One interesting side fact the Chinese web site (Not Allowed) has taken a tremendous hit as the Chinese government has surprisingly taken a stance on counterfeiters on this site. Hopefully the US federal government can wake ebay up, nothing scares a company like having the feds on your back.

What is the (Not Allowed) action that was taken and how effective has it been?

Warner Brothers gave RCM a license to use their IP on a limited number of coins produced by the RCM. Warner Brothers can and will go after anyone who produces coins (or anything else) that uses their IP without a license agreement.

(Not Allowed) shares has tumbled along with a slowing Chinese economy, but the government has put pressure on the site not to allow fakes.

Quote: (Not Allowed) shares has tumbled along with a slowing Chinese economy, but the government has put pressure on the site not to allow fakes. I reported a listing two days ago selling a counterfeit US Classic coin, worth about $1500 if real, by the 100. I got a reply from them two hours later telling me it violated no selling rules. So I call BS on that statement. Quote: Dear Bobby,
We refer to your recent report about suspicious product listing(s).

That's how lame the RCM position on counterfeiting, they seem to wait for other smarter IP companies to protect their valuable IP. Hopefully the threat of a RICO action will cause ebay to wake up. You are correct Warner and DC probably will take actions against fakes, all large brands do so.

A few weeks ago there was an article in Bloomberg on the share price sliding and since the site holds so many fakes, that was a couple of reasons for the sharp decline, but obviously there's more to the story.
